Professor Ali Wardak
Professor Ali Wardak, Professor of Criminology at the University of South Wales (USW), has been shortlisted for a Times Higher Education (THE) award.
After being nominated in the Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences category, Prof Wardak’s work will be up against entries from City, University of London; De Montfort University; University of Leicester; Manchester Metropolitan University, in collaboration with the University of Manchester, and University of Southampton.
“I am very pleased that USW is shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Awards 2018 - known as the ‘Oscars of higher education’,” Prof Wardak said.
“There is a very good chance that we could win the award on November. Even if we do not, our mere representation - for the first time ever - at the THE Awards Ceremonies is wonderful recognition for the work that is carried out here at USW.”
The nomination follows Prof Wardak’s recognition in last year’s USW Impact and Innovation Awards.
