You’ve probably got lots of questions about becoming a student at the University of South Wales – that’s great! At our Open Day there will be the right people to answer them.
In the heart of the city, overlooking the River Usk, is one of the University’s most iconic buildings and it couldn’t be in a better location to embrace city life in Newport. Plus, the Halls of Residence are just a few minutes’ walk away, so you won’t have to get up too early for your 9am lectures!
From education disciplines and teaching to business and management, social work, counselling and therapeutic, youth and community and the compelling world of cyber security, Newport hosts a diverse yet career-focusing mix of courses.
Friars Walk is a new £100m retail development which opened in November 2015. It is right opposite Newport City Campus so its really easy to get to. Why not take a look when you come along to the Open Day?
Registration will begin at 9am. Make sure you arrive early to sign in and meet other students before the Welcome Talk.
If you're interested in more than one subject, you should follow the programme for your 'first-choice' subject. You can find out more about other courses at the Information Fair.
This is your chance to see our facilities, ask questions about day-to-day university life and see where you could be living. Each tour usually takes around 25-30 minutes and you can book your place on these in the Information Fair.
Where you live is just as important as where you learn, and we want USW to be your home away from home so make sure you attend an accommodation tour.
If you need any help during the day, simply ask a student ambassador - they're here to help you!
Ask questions about your course or about student life to get an insight from a current student.
Information about our courses, student finance, accommodation, careers, disability and dyslexia support, and applying to university will be available on the day.
Our staff will be in the foyer, providing you with the perfect opportunity to ask any questions on a one-to-one basis.

There’s no parking at the campus but parking in the Kingsway Centre is discounted by 20% for students, staff and visitors to the University. Just make sure you validate your ticket at reception.
If you are travelling by train, please alight at Newport train station.
