D27: English Language and Literature

The Unit’s distinctive strengths are grouped into several informal research clusters: Creative Writing; Critical-creative Writing; Welsh Writing in English; Women’s Writing; Textuality and Cultural Spaces; and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
While research in this area ranges from the medieval period to the present day, it also has a particularly strong commitment to the south Wales valleys in which the University is situated.
