2025/26 Sport Scholarships

At the University of South Wales, we are proud of the quality of support and atmosphere generated by our performance pathways, which ensures that all student-athletes have the opportunity to excel in both their studies and in their chosen sport.

We can offer financial support, in the form of a £2,000 scholarship, to our students that meet the below criteria.

Eligibility criteria:

This criteria is provided to act as a guide to the applicant and the awarding panel. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee you a scholarship. The £2,000 scholarships will be awarded using the criteria, applied appropriately to the sport and factoring in the number of scholarships available and the quality of applicants.

Applicants should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • International representative honours at age-group or senior level.
  • Part of the top tier of your National Governing Body’s performance pathway.
  • Significant experience at academy level (or above) of a professional sport.
  • Continued success at national age group or senior championships.
  • The scholarship is only available to UK-domicile students.

All potential sport scholars must provide two references confirming their sporting achievements as part of their application, as well as their own supporting statement.
