If you have applied for our Advertising Design degree in Cardiff, you will be asked to take part in a one-to-one interview before we can make you an offer.
This may seem a daunting process, the interview is a good opportunity for you to present yourself in the best possible way, and talk directly to the course tutors about the course to find out if USW is the place for you.
The Advertising Design degree is open to a variety of disciplines, and is a course that embraces creativity as well as strong, critical thinking.
The following tips will help you on your interview day with Advertising Design:
- If you have a creative portfolio to demonstrate then be sure to bring your strongest work with you. You will be expected to explain your thinking behind your work and show how it links with advertising design. Photography, sketch books, films and even social media channels are welcome examples to bring with you.
- If you don’t have a portfolio, don’t worry! You will have the chance to meet and talk with our staff, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your passion and knowledge for advertising.
- With or without a portfolio, you will need to demonstrate an understanding and interest in advertising and its latest trends.
- While interviews can be daunting, remember that this is a two-way process and your chance to meet our staff and decide if USW is right for you!
