Meet the MSc HRM teaching staff

Tony Lewis
Tony Lewis is Senior Lecturer in HRM and Leadership, and is Course Leader for the MSc Human Resource Management, Pontypridd Campus. His main research areas are employee engagement, retention strategies, strategic talent management and sustainable leadership. Tony is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)

Sian Jenkins
Sian Jenkins is the MSc Human Resource Management Course Leader for the Newport City Campus. Sian has a background in occupational psychology, as well as HRM and so her main area of interest is organisational behaviour.  She’s interested in factors influencing work performance, such as mental health issues, personality factors, emotional intelligence and employee wellbeing. 

Kevin Brown
Kevin Brown is a Senior Lecturer in HRM and has been teaching for 10 years. His areas of interest include leadership, followship, the future of work, as well as AI and automation. Kevin is undertaking research into auto-industrial workplaces and skills, alongside his work on the Leading, Managing and Developing People module, on the course.

Dr Caryn Cook
Dr Caryn Cook is a Senior Lecturer in HRM. Her research interests include employee relations, international HRM, strategic HRM, convergence theory, social capital and HRM in a Post-Soviet Baltic State. Caryn is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Fellow of the HEA. 

Chris Newport
As well as being a Lecturer in HRM, Chris Newport’s a Member of the CIPD, Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and a Fellow of the HEA. His areas of expertise are performance management, knowledge management and resourcing and talent planning. Chris teaches Performance Management on the course.

Dr Amarachi Amaugo
Dr Amarachi Amaugo is a Senior Lecturer in HRM. Her area of specialism is international HRM – the focus of her PhD. Amarachi’s research interests include International HRM in developing countries (specifically how company policies are implemented) and workplace bullying, particularly in developing countries. Amarachi is one of the supervisors on the HRM Business Research Report module.

Dr Dominic Page
Dr Dominic Page is the Head of the South Wales Business School. His area of specialism is HR. Dom’s an Associate Member of the CIPD, Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Fellow of the HEA. His research interests include equality and diversity, welfare and welfare reform, political economy of work, mental health and employment, as well as workplace health.

Hazel Mawdsley
Hazel Mawdsley is a Lecturer in HRM. Her specialist areas include international HR, employee relations and business strategy. Hazel teaches on modules, Developing Skills for Business Leadership and Understanding and Managing Change.  Hazel is research active in employee relations - the topic for her PhD. Her focus is on workplace bullying and harassment.
