David Adams, Football Coaching Consultant (Academic)
Formerly David worked full time at the University and developed many of the current successful undergraduate programmes we offer. He was central to the development of our work-based learning opportunities using his industry contacts to enable students to benefit from the vocational skills required to perform effectively within the industry.
David is an experienced coach educator having worked with many current managers such as Roberto Martinez, Tony Pulis, Garry Monk and currently works on UEFA Professional License educating the next generation of elite coaches.
David holds the UEFA Professional License and a PhD in coach effectiveness. His role at the University of South Wales is to provide seminars, workshops and practical delivery on both our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
He was Head of Academy Coaching at Swansea City Football Club, leading the club to achieve Category 1 status in 2016 while also working alongside Alan Curtis as joint manager of Swansea City first team during 2015-2016 when the team finished 12th in the Premier League, with many players recognising his contribution to the team's resurgence during that season.
More recently David worked alongside Garry Monk at Middlesbrough Football Club, these experiences provides fantastic sector knowledge of both applied and academic knowledge to enrich our FAW courses and the student experience.
