The Geography department has been ranked 6th out of 66 established UK Geography departments in The Guardian university league tables 2020. This builds on our continuing success in the National Student Survey where Geography was joint top in the UK and top in Wales for student satisfaction. (NSS 2017)
The Guardian rankings place particular emphasis on course satisfaction, quality of teaching and feedback, and value added from entry to graduation. Our position in the league table reflects our staff dedication to the undergraduate and integrated masters Geography courses, by making sure students have a transformative experience.
BSc/MGeog Geography Course Leader, Suzanne Jenkins said, “The expertise of the Geography team ensures that the courses offered are contemporary, innovative and relevant to the world we live in. The results show that our students recognise the value of course emphasis on experiential learning and employability through community projects, placements and fieldwork opportunities across diverse international locations”.
The department are proud that the continued commitment to enhancing teaching and learning, on our courses, and supporting the students during their studies, has been reflected in such a positive outcome.
Congratulations Geography staff and students.
