"My role at Wigan Warriors is Educational Support and within this I will be providing 1-2-1 learning support for a student with epilepsy, who is studying the BTEC at Wigan Warriors Education Academy. I also lead all the athletics delivery at Wigan Warriors and support Wigan Harriers with their athletics programme. In addition to these, I’m also a Sports Coach for Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, where I go into schools and deliver a range of sports sessions, within P.E and extra-curricular clubs. And finally, I’m a Personal Trainer at my local rugby club, for young people interested in becoming professional athletes.

I’ve been volunteering for Wigan Harriers for 11-years and during that time I progressed from being an Assistant Coach to a Head Coach. The role included coaching primary school aged children in a range of track and field events. I’ve gained so much experience in a variety of roles and because of this, I’m now very confident when dealing with children.

In the future, I’d like to be a Teacher or even a Strength and Conditioning Coach either in secondary school or college and I think the course will help me to achieve this by gaining lots of experience in schools on placement. We also have a P.E module on the course and I think the knowledge here will help a lot."
