For added experience, you’ll use industry-standard facilities on campus. These can include computing laboratories with engineering software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Autodesk QTO, CostX, Synchro, and Navisworks and a dedicated built environment project area.
We recommend you spend a year working in the construction industry as part of your degree. During this ‘sandwich’ year, you’ll get hands-on experience that will make you a more attractive candidate to employers and will inform your studies in your final year.

The Quantity Surveyor is the financial and contractual expert of the Built Environment. On this course you will undertake measurement from drawings and feel confident producing quantities in order to effectively undertake the financial management of projects. You will develop an understanding of contractual obligations, the procurement process and dispute resolution.

The MSc Safety, Health and Environmental Management degree produces health and safety practitioners who can identify, assess and solve health, safety and environmental problems by applying the principles of good management.
A Masters by Research (Built Environment) allows to make an in-depth study of a topic that’s of interest to you or your organisation. Study full-time or part-time, on-campus or by distance (topic permitting).

You can study 40 credits of our Built courses in Welsh. If you choose to study 40 credits in each year of your course, you will be eligible to apply for a Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Incentive Scholarship, worth £1,500 over three years. Watch this video for more information.
