We have three cutting-edge suites that include an embedded systems lab, a general electronics lab where you will undertake experimental setups and learn how to use the latest software, and the power and renewable energy lab, where you can design and simulate your very own renewable systems.
Work Placements

We encourage you to gain experience in the workplace as part of your engineering degree. Our students have completed year-long placements with a range of companies, including Tata Steel, 3M, Reneas, Airbus UK, Renishaw, GlaxoSmithKline, Panasonic, Bosch and IBM.

Postgraduate Research Degrees
Influence Change
We offer a number of postgraduate research programmes including Masters by Research and PhD, which allow you to make an in-depth study of an electrical engineering topic that interests you. You can study full-time or part-time, on campus or by distance (subject permitting). If you are an engineering professional with an existing body of work, you may be eligible for the PhD by Portfolio.
We have research strengths in a number of individual disciplines and interdisciplinary areas including electronic product design; electric propulsion; wireless and optoelectronics; advanced control and network technology; automotive and power systems engineering; mobile and satellite communications.
