The 1 year old paediatric simulator is an effective training tool for CPR, intubation, suctioning, intensive care, trauma care, and general patient care exercises. It has a realistic mouth, tongue, vocal cords, trachea, and oesophagus, a fully articulating head, neck, and jaw and accommodates oral and nasal intubation plus suctioning. The crichoid prominence facilitates Sellick manœuvre.
The intubatable airway allows for tracheostomy care with an access port to allow insertion of tracheostomy tubes through replaceable membrane and positive pressure ventilation to produce chest excursion. There are arterial sites in the arms and legs, intraosseous infusion sites and a G-tube site.
