The University of South Wales has a strong sporting background, an excellent reputation for sport degrees, and impressive facilities for our students to study and train in. We have some of the best facilities in the UK offering clubs, courses and qualifications.
The USW Sport Park is our purpose-built site, designed to train and develop our students to their highest potential. Our largest campus hosts the Treforest Sport Centre, with facilities and programmes that cater for top-class elite performers and students who want to want to keep fit and healthy. The labs at Pontypridd Campus, Glyntaff provide a strong, scientific background to learning, and complement the specialist equipment available in the Sport Park.
At USW we wish we could have you on campus and to tour our amazing Sport Park. However, in the meantime, we are developing a virtual sporting experience just for you. This will involve several interactive sessions from all our sports courses including; Sports & Exercise Science, Strength & Conditioning, Football Coaching. In addition to this, we will run a virtual Student Ambassador tour and an overview of sport at USW, Q&A with current ambassadors.

Attending an open day, whether online or on-campus, is the ideal way to learn more about our Sport courses and get a feel of what it's like to study at the University of South Wales.
Speak to the lecturers and expert staff who teach the courses, take tours of our campuses and facilities, view accommodation, speak to our advice team about placement and career opportunities and discuss finances. Plus, speak to current students and hear about their experiences first hand.

We use industry-leading technology to enhance teaching, including wearable GPS technology, high-end video analysis and athlete management equipment.
We have unique partnerships with clubs, governing bodies and sporting unions, and our students can take advantage of these opportunities to benefit their employability. For example, our football offering utilises partnerships with the Football Asociation of Wales, Cardiff City FC and the English Football League Trust, whereas our rugby courses utilise our partnerships with the Welsh Rugby Union, Cardiff Blues and Newport Gwent Dragons. Our new specialist centre for strength and conditioning provides 12 lifting platforms for our students so an entire rugby or football squad can train together. The floor is integrated with the platforms so that it can support the heavy weights our athletes will be using.
