Leadership in Sport

Good leaders influence others to work towards a shared vision – which is vitally important in sport, both on and off the pitch, and across various sports careers from coaching to sport management roles. Whether you are a student, or working in the sports sector, CEELS provides you with opportunities to develop your leadership skills.

"Leadership is about engaging, motivating and inspiring people to become the best that they can be. Leadership is critical because you need those people to drive things forward to champion what you believe in and to join networks to ensure your voice and strategic direction is heard."

Caroline Spanton, National Womens Manager, Welsh Rugby Union.

Leadership for Students

CEELS will provide a series of inspirational workshops and seminars, delivered by leaders from the worlds of business and sport, that can support your future progression.

Many of our students are already changing lives through the power of sport. From raising awareness of mental health issues to providing doorstep sporting opportunities for deprived communities, our students are really making a difference.

In addition, throughout your studies you will be provided with many opportunities to develop a network of contacts in the sports sector. Whilst you will access leadership opportunities across all our courses, we also have the purpose built MA Leadership in Sport degree which will enhance your leadership skills and sports development knowledge, and prepare you for working in the sports development and management industry.
