USW Class Of 2020 Celebrations

Congratulations! Take a bow and celebrate your success. Things may look a bit different this summer, but we still want you to have your time in the spotlight and a space to come together and reflect on your achievements and your time at USW.

Graduation is a time of mixed emotions, with much joy and relief, excitement and sadness. But it’s always special – and this year, recognition of hard work and achievement has never been more deserved.

So while we look to the future and wait to welcome you back for formal ceremonies, we hope you stay safe and enjoy your celebrations with fellow students, tutors, family and friends.

Interested in a placement or internship to gain valuable work experience? USW work with employers across a range of industries with the goal being to connect you to the most appropriate opportunity for your career aspirations.

Alongside industry internships, we also offer a USW Graduate Intern Programme which runs each year and welcomes applications from student leavers or recent graduates seeking paid opportunities within the University environment.

For information on how to find a placement or internship opportunity, please contact our careers team and they will be able to provide you with details on the options available.

Virtual Grad Celebrations - Apprenticeships

Degree apprenticeships are becoming increasingly popular. Students are placed with an employer and earn a salary, while studying a degree. It’s the perfect way to gain experience as you study. Many apprentices are even recruited by their employer after graduation.

Find your apprenticeship by searching online/offline for degree apprenticeships that are currently accepting applicants. Unlike most university courses, there is no specific time where applicants are accepted - so make sure you keep up the search as vacancies can become available at any time.

Postgraduate courses

Thousands of students choose to study a postgraduate course with USW each year. Employers often look for the advanced skills of postgraduates and a course could help you expand your career prospects even further.

We offer a range of qualifications, from postgraduate certificates and diplomas to Masters degrees. Many courses are also accredited so you will gain a recognised qualification.

Alumni Discount:

USW alumni, including University of Glamorgan and University of Wales, Newport alumni, may be eligible for a 20% discount on many postgraduate taught courses enrolling in 2020-2021.

Terms and conditions apply. For full eligibility details and to find out more, visit:
