This website is run by the University of South Wales. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible this website is.

We hope this will make it easier for you to access the information you need. The ‘Loop’ website has the following issues. We know some parts of the website are not fully accessible:

  • Some of the text on our website is not as easy to read as it could be due to poor contrast.
  • Some of our interactive elements such as forms and buttons do not have useful labels or text, making them harder to use.
  • Our page structure is sometimes not as clear as it should be making it harder to make sense of the information based on how it’s structured.
  • We have some slideshows and ‘carousels’ that are not easily used with a keyboard.
  • We have not correctly set a language attribute, making it harder for Screen Readers to work with the site.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

We formally test the accessibility of our website on a regular basis against WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Some parts of the website may not work for everyone. Below are known issues that we either need to fix, cannot fix, or do not need to fix right now. If you find something that does not work that we missed, remember to contact us.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

This section covers issues that we need to fix and are working to do so.

We may need to work with 3rd party suppliers to fix some issues.

Color Contrast
The text in our ‘badges’ showing numbers of responses does not have sufficient contrast. This can cause text to be difficult to read, especially for those with low vision, poor eyesight, or colour blindness. (WCAG: 1.4.3)

We plan to fix this.

Missing Language attribute
We have not declared a language in our HTML, making it harder for screen readers to use the site. (WCAG: 3.1.1)

We plan to fix this.

Missing a Label on form elements
We have incorrectly labelled some of our form elements on our reports page, thus making them harder to use. (WCAG: 1.3.1, 4.1.2)

We plan to fix this.

Heading Levels are inconsistent
Our Heading levels on this site are not consistent with WCAG best practice.

We plan to fix this.

Disproportionate burden

We are not claiming disproportionate burden for this site.
