USW Exchange is the front door for business engagement at the University. The team provides personalised access to the University's expertise, including signposting to funding and  events  that enable growth and support your business challenges. 

Our Exchange hubs in Pontypridd and Newport provide members with free meeting and co-working spaces equipped with the latest technology. We're the first step for developing partnerships that address global challenges, encourage knowledge exchange and inspire innovation. 

Business Services

We have  a range of cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops across our campuses that are open to the public as well as our colleagues and students. With hot and cold refreshments available, including everything from handcrafted coffee and homemade desserts, to healthy salads, sandwiches and themed dishes from around the world, there’s something for every appetite.  

We also offer a Click and Collect service at Stilts restaurant and Crawshays coffee shop, both on our Treforest, Pontypridd Campus.

Catering services

Acorns Nursery Treforest is an independent nursery located on our Pontypridd Campus. The nursery management team have more than 20 years’ experience working within Acorns. The children of our students and colleagues at USW, as well as children from the wider community, are welcomed into the picturesque nursery setting.  

Each group has their own base room and access to the tree-lined garden area enabling them to freely move between stimulating activities in the indoor and outdoor environment. All of our equipment is chosen for its play and learning potential and is age appropriate to ensure that babies and children are learning through play. 

Acorns Nursery

The Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC), located at our Pontypridd Campus, offers a range of clinical care services, including chiropractic care, which is provided by final year Student Clinicians under the supervision of Clinical Supervisors, Registered with the General Chiropractic Council.  The WIOC also offers Bone Mineral Density (DXA) scanning, Diagnostic Musculoskeletal (MSK) scanning and Shockwave Therapy services, delivered by qualified clinical staff.

Patients can self-refer for chiropractic care, however, must be referred by a suitably qualified healthcare provider for the other services.   

Whether you are experiencing chronic back pain or seeking help to diagnose and treat problems with your joints or muscles, our clinical services offer the opportunity to assess your condition and advise you on your treatment options. 

Chiropractic Clinic

The USW Conference Centre, at our Pontypridd campus, provides flexible, adaptable space for a wide variety of events, with the added advantage of on-site accommodation during the summer months.  

Our dedicated, purpose-built conference centre, run by an experienced team of event professionals, makes for an ideal location for everything from small, select meetings to major conferences. 

Conferencing and Events

The Early Intervention Service provides clinic-based, applied behaviour analytic early intervention services to children 6 years old and under with autism and related developmental delays (although we do not require a formal diagnosis to receive services).

Our service is led by a BACB-qualified Clinical Lead and is staffed by postgraduate and undergraduate students who are studying behaviour analysis at USW. Children receive individualised, evidence-based, one-to-one applied behaviour analytic therapy (ABA) in a fun, energetic, and nurturing the environment.

Early Intervention Service

IT Services are a common thread behind many of the activities which help to enhance your learning experience, such as your online student account (giving you access to email, printing and payments and more), Unilearn (your online learning environment), open access to computers on each campus, printing services, and media equipment.

IT Services

The Learner Development Service (formerly known as Study Skills) can support your academic studies by helping you to develop the necessary skills to succeed in higher education. These include academic writing, referencing, and critical thinking skills, as well as Maths and Statistics support. 

Support available includes 1-1 appointments (online or on campus), regular online skills sessions (via Teams), online guides, and video guides. All information regarding the support on offer can be accessed on our website. 

Learner Development Service

We run free public appointments where students (with qualified legal supervision) interview and assess clients and draw up legal advice in several legal areas such as employment, housing, debt, family and contract matters.  

We may also be able to assist in other areas of law, using our links with local firms such as Capital Law, Harding Evans and Howells who also provide free legal advice and support to the clinic.

Oriel y Bont is the University’s art gallery and museum, located inside the Ty Crawshay building on our Treforest Campus. 

The gallery is open to the public and welcomes local and international visitors to exhibitions throughout the year, including art installations, photographic collections and more, providing a platform for work by students, colleagues, and many local artists.

USW Print and Design offers a range of print, design, copy and binding services for USW students, colleagues and the community.   

Our friendly, experienced, and helpful team can assist with all your printing and design needs. As well as an online store, the Print and Design shop stocks essential stationery and art supplies, located at our Treforest Campus.

The USW Sport Park is a 30-acre site located in Treforest, and includes top of the range facilities such as an indoor FIFA standard 3G football pitch, Catapult ClearSky Indoor GPS System, notational analysis suite, strength and conditioning room, all-weather pitch, outdoor 3G pitch and numerous multi use grass pitches. The Sport Park is used as a training base for local sports clubs as well as professional clubs including Cardiff Blues and the Women's Football Association of Wales.   

FitZone, located at our Pontypridd Campus, offers a range of classes from hot yoga to kettlebells. The centre has six badminton courts, squash courts, a climbing wall, a dance and martial arts studio, and a strength room, while the gym boasts state of the art exercise machines and weight training equipment.

Sport

Our Library Services provide a wide range of high-quality library and information services to USW students, academics and researchers. There is a variety of resources available both physically and digitally at our libraries, which are located at our Pontypridd, Cardiff and Newport campuses.

Students can also access support from our Advice Zone, based in the libraries as well as online, for any queries they may have during their time with USW.

USW Therapy, based at our Newport Campus, is a therapeutic service offering a range of psychological therapies to professionals, businesses, third sector organisations and the public. We can offer a range of counselling options, depending on your needs.    

From our suite of counselling rooms, we can offer a range of services to people and organisations from the South Wales area, including (but not limited to) Newport, Cardiff, Caerphilly, Treforest, Usk, Cwmbran and Chepstow.
