Richard Grabham, Teacher at Cardiff West Community High School and winner of the 2021 Award for Supporting Progression to HE said “Over the past 3 years, I have had the challenge of ensuring that all year 13 students at Cardiff West Community High School aspire and achieve their ambitions and move into higher education. Receiving the award for supporting progression into higher education means that I have achieved my goal in ensuring that students know that they are valued in the world of education regardless of their background.”
Sera Evans, Head of UK Student Recruitment at USW, said: “The past year has continued to challenge us in many ways and the impact of Covid-19 on our young people will be long-lasting. We want to take this opportunity to once again recognise the commitment, diligence and resilience that teachers and advisers have demonstrated throughout this period as key University partners, and praise the support, encouragement and positive impact they have had on the lives of young people.”
