Among the huge crew who created Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the sequel to the original 2000 film, were 17 USW graduates!
Mathew Rees who graduated with a HND in 2D Animation 2001, Grace Mahony who graduated from BA TV & Film Set Design in 2016, Sean Gregory who graduated from BA Animation in 2014, Tim Allen, who graduated from BA Animation in 1998 and James Carlisle who graduated from BA Animation in 2014 all shared their story with us.
Our Facilities
Our facilities have computer laps equipped with large Wacom Cintiqu tablets ~ high-spec PCs with full licences for industry‐standard software for animation and game-art students, and remote‐desktop access so students can work off-campus.
Motion capture, green-screen and VR/AR technologies supported under the games/animation umbrella. A dedicated floor with a life‐drawing room, spacious stop-motion workshops (for puppet/ model-making), filming rooms, access to 3D printing and laser‐cutting zones.
Live‐project studios where students work on “real world” briefs and collaborate with external studios or industry partners; this mirrors studio workflows.
