Megan is an Iwill schools coordinator at Liverpool FC Foundation alongside playing for Burnley Women FC. She completed her course in Sports Coaching and Management in 2020.

What was your time at USW like and what have you been up to since graduating?

I Started USW in 2018 with Wigan Athletic in the community and loved every minute of learning developing throughout my degree with the help of the supportive tutors. I am now an Iwill schools coordinator at Liverpool FC Foundation alongside playing for Burnley Women FC.

What are some of your career highlights?

My career highlights so far are being given the opportunity to coach and play around the world, in Africa (Malawi), Barcelona, Malta, Norway and many more and seeing the impact I can have in supporting other people. I have had also had a successful season with Burnley winning the Lancashire FA cup in which I hope to also achieve next season and more.

How can the sports industry be more inclusive?

I think that the sports industry has made a massive change with in the past few years with being inclusive and it is only going to get better. 

What is your favourite song to listen to prior to competing?

My favourite two songs that I listen to before a game are Gotta Have it by JAY-Z and Kanye West and Thiago Silver by Dave.

Who inspires you?

My teammates and colleagues inspire me to achieve more and never stop wanting to better myself, competition is a massive factor and pushes us all to work hard.

What are your three top tips for any aspiring females wanting to go into the sporting industry?

  1. Have high and achievable goals and never let anyone tell you no.
  2. Work hard and even harder than others around you and go the extra mile.
  3. Always have a clear pathway and remain professional.
