"The course has exceeded my expectations.’’

Hi, I’m Georgia, from Jamaica. I was truly honoured to join USW as a Chevening Scholar. I’m so pleased that I chose the University of South Wales’s Clinical Psychology programme to facilitate my growth and development on my journey to become a licensed clinical psychologist. The decision to further my studies in the United Kingdom was driven by my ambition to contribute to the development of the Mental Health Care Services in my country; particularly as it relates to children and young adults from poor households who are unable to access care due to geographic and financial barriers.

IT WAS ESSENTIAL FOR ME TO BE IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT WAS ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGING.

Since my enrolment, I can honestly say that the programme has exceeded my expectations in terms of the relevance of the modules and delivery of the content. Being an experiential learner, I have benefitted from the expertise and skill of the lecturers, who constantly challenge and facilitate my development as a critical thinker and a skilled mental health professional.

As I complete my final semester, I hope to continue to learn from the expertise of the amazing academics who challenge as well as facilitate my growth and development as I continue to gain confidence in the discipline as an aspiring clinician and my research skills especially as I finish my thesis.
