Everything you need to know
As a self-funding international student from Jamaica, you are eligible for a scholarship of:
- £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
- £2,500 per year for postgraduate students
This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for university study. As a guide applicants should have a grade C or above in English GCE Ordinary Level English or a grade one, two or three in General Proficiency at Secondary Education Certificate.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants who hold the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) will be considered for first year entry onto a bachelor's degree or an appropriate Foundation Year.
Also considered for entry:
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
- Applicants who have successfully completed one to two years of college or university study will be considered for advanced entry to the 2nd year of a relevant degree programme.
The requirements listed above are the minimum requirements and some courses may have higher requirements.

Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from The University of the West Indies or Barbados Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.0 above will be considered for admission onto a master’s degree.
