This IMechE accredited degree apprenticeship is designed to help you gain invaluable industrial experience within several key themes of Mechanics including thermofluids, design, management and engineering to name a few.

You will be taught by industrialists and academics alike meaning we are able apply the learning to real world examples. Networking and knowledge exchange is also highly encouraged during the programme, predominantly made up of part-time, industry based students.

At the end of the program, you will gain a formal qualification leading to professional engineering status. Combined with your industry experience, this will give you the knowledge and confidence to thrive in the industry.

This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Campus Study Mode Duration
Treforest 2 days in University 5 years

Our study years are classed as thematic pillars where we look at the course in a vertical not horizontal fashion. As such, knowledge gained in the first year will be built upon in subsequent years and embedded in the final year. These pillars are Mechanics, Thermofluids, Design and Management, supported by other areas of mechanical engineering.

In the first year, these topics are supported with maths and control. In the second year they are Control and production processes. In the final year they are operations management/asset management and of course the final year project.
