We offer a unique opportunity for employers to develop skilled, work-ready talent through Degree Apprenticeships. By partnering with us, you can access a cost-effective way to grow your workforce, enhance productivity, and future-proof your business. Our tailored programmes are designed to meet the specific needs of your industry, ensuring that apprentices gain the knowledge and skills that will directly benefit your organisation.

  • With over 20 years of experience, The Professional Academy at USW works closely with employers to deliver industry-focused degree apprenticeships that are tailored to your specific business needs. Our dedicated team will guide you throughout the process, ensuring your apprentices gain the practical skills and academic knowledge that will drive success in your organisation. We will work with you to assess the best route and entry point for your apprentices.

  • Degree apprenticeships in Wales are currently focused on priority areas identified by the Welsh Government and Regional Skills Partnerships. In alignment with this strategy, USW offers a range of degree apprenticeships (anchor to available apprenticeships if poss). We are also happy to meet with employers from any sector to discuss how we can support your specific needs. Apprenticeships are fully funded by the Welsh Government through USW, with employers responsible for the apprentice's employment package.

  • Apprentices must spend at least 51% of their working time based in Wales and be employed in a role that is directly relevant to their apprenticeship programme. Apprentices must be permanently employed and there are no restrictions on size or type of employer. All parties sign a tripartite agreement which outlines relevant responsibilities.

  • You'll provide the necessary support and training plan to help your apprentice balance their studies with work, assign a workplace mentor to guide their development, and ensure they participate in regular tripartite reviews to monitor their progress.
