USW Innovation Hub
A space to innovate
What is the Innovation Hub?
The Innovation Hub is collective of staff and students across multiple subject areas offering mini-courses, help and advice, industrial links and projects, competitions, and the opportunity to create your own ideas.
We offer multiple events offering opportunities to make connections, find out more about what we offer and get hands-on experience.
We have several pieces of high-spec equipment to enable the creation of your projects, including high speed 3D printing, laser cutting and soldering.
Activities at the Innovation Hub are open to all students and staff (unless otherwise specified).
Why should I get involved?
With the many opportunities that we offer at the Innovation Hub, you can:
- Learn a new skill
- Boost your knowledge
- Make friends
- Meet teams across USW who want to help you and your future career
- Create links with industry
- Create something you need
- Fix something that’s broken
- Make your CV stand out
Can I design and build my idea?
All staff and students are invited to use the Innovation Hub to bring their ideas to life.
However, we must make sure everyone is safe when using the equipment. So, before you can use the Innovation Hub during the ‘Open Hours’ you must complete the Innovation Hub passport scheme. For more information, please visit the Blackboard site.
How do I get involved?
Students at USW (and staff) can join the Innovation Hub Blackboard course to find out information on events, groups and clubs, open hours and volunteering opportunities.
If you do not yet have access to the Blackboard pages, talk to your course leader/HoS or email [email protected].
