Empowering Women to Lead With Confidence, Clarity, and Community

Lowri Williams

After navigating the challenges of having two children during lockdown, Lowri Williams found herself at a personal and professional crossroads.

Her experience during this intense period sparked a renewed sense of purpose, to be part of a movement that empowers women, challenges inequality, and champions inclusive leadership. With a desire to move forward in her career but uncertain how to do so, she joined the Women’s Development Programme.

The Need

Professionally, Lowri knew where she wanted to go, but didn’t know how to get there. When a promotion opportunity arose, she talked herself out of it, believing she didn’t have the right skills or leadership qualities. Personally, she was still processing a life-changing period of motherhood and needed space to reflect, grow, and reconnect with her identity and goals.

She was searching for more than just a training course. She was looking for a supportive community, practical tools, and a chance to rediscover her own leadership potential.

The Solution

The Women’s Development Programme provided a powerful blend of real-world tools, self-reflection, and community connection. Through face-to-face workshops, action learning, and practical coaching, participants learned not just about leadership theory, but how to apply it in their own lives and roles.

Lowri particularly valued the programme’s safe and supportive environment, which allowed her to try out new skills, engage deeply with active listening and reflection, and build confidence through shared experiences.

The Impact

The shift was immediate and lasting. Lowri began to recognise the leadership qualities she already possessed, even without a formal management title.

When the next promotion opportunity came around, she applied with confidence, using what she’d learned about leadership, self-belief, and communication. She got the job.

More than a career move, the programme helped Lowri reframe what leadership looks like and how it shows up in everyday actions, not just titles. It also gave her other invaluable tools and insights:

  • A trusted network of brilliant women to grow alongside
  • A clearer understanding of herself as a leader and individual
  • A renewed ability to back herself and step into new opportunities

Lowri’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when women are given the space, tools, and support to grow — on their own terms. The Women’s Development Programme didn’t just help her move forward in her career; it gave her the confidence to see she was already leading, and the courage to own it.
