LGBTQ+ History Month

As a queer person, the University has been a safe and supportive space where I've found inclusivity among lecturers and my cohort, forming lifelong friendships.

LGBTQ+ History Month is a time to honour those lost to hate crimes, past and present while celebrating the resilience and achievements of our community. For example, lesbians, who are often overlooked in history, were pivotal during the AIDS crisis, stepping up as caregivers, activists, and organisers.

Their unwavering support and advocacy reshaped public perceptions of the LGBTQ+ community and advanced critical progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This rich history provides incredible role models for people like me entering the arts and health industry.
