Changes to course evaluation for 2024-25

This year, the University is changing how courses and modules are evaluated.

Loop, the University’s online module and course evaluation system, will be suspended for 2024/25. Instead, student feedback will be channelled by Course Reps through the Student Staff Course Liaison Group (SSCLG) process.

Course Representation

A Course Rep is a student who has been elected by their peers to represent their cohort's academic views and concerns. Their primary role is to gather feedback from classmates using a variety of mechanisms, including regular discussions, email, social media, or surveys.

Course Reps are appointed during the first few weeks of the term - you can find out more about their role and how you can apply here.

What is a Student Staff Course Liaison Group?

At a Student Staff Course Liaison Group (SSCLG), Course Reps meet with their Course Leader and members of the course team to provide feedback on the course to help improve the experience for all. After this meeting, Course Reps report back to their cohort with any outcomes and actions. These meetings should be held on a termly basis. Where a course doesn’t have a Course Rep, students are encouraged to contact their Student Voice Representative (SVR) directly to ensure feedback is captured.’
