Virtually the Same for Everyone

A project considering practices to support the Decolonisation of the traditional Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

Reflecting USW’s commitment to its diverse student body, one of our most recent projects involves the team exploring the process of decolonising our digital environments, an ongoing activity identifying and challenging the biases that underpin digital platforms, as well as exploring ways to make them more inclusive and accessible to diverse groups.

In conversation with UNESCO Chair Professor John Traxler, the USW DEE team is proud to lead the way in this area, co-designing our module templates with students, producing guidance resources for colleagues, and raising the profile of this important topic, presenting at the USW Learning and Teaching Conference and the Association of Learning Technology Conference (ALT-C).
