Karl holds overall responsibility for the leadership and delivery of a successful Centre for the Enhancement in Learning and Teaching, aligned to USW's 2030 strategy

Academic Professional Practice Team 

This CELT team is responsible for developing and embedding a comprehensive framework for professional development across USW which includes the NEW2THE Postgraduate Certificate Teaching in Higher Education (PgCertHE) and the Advance HE fellowship pathways through TSL@USW.

Hydra Simulation Centre

The Hydra Simulation Centre provides a unique learning and teaching environment and is used to conduct immersive, simulated scenarios for teaching and learning.

Assessment and Curriculum team  

This CELT team is responsible for leading the enhancement of institutional understanding of the role of curriculum delivery and assessment in meeting USW's critical success factors (CSFs) and contributing to the achievement of USW's 2030 Strategy. This involves enhancing assessment policy and practice; creating resources to support academic staff development in the areas of assessment and the USW Curriculum 2030; and working in partnership with faculties to support with challenges in curriculum and assessment.

Communications and Events team 

This CELT team plan, co-ordinate and promote a calendar of events and opportunities for enabling staff to develop their learning and teaching knowledge and skills. The team also leads on the communication plan within CELT as well as the design and implementation of its internal and external visibility through the website and social media channels, such as @USWCELT on X (formerly, Twitter).
