Hazardous waste is waste that contains materials or substances which could be harmful to human health or the environment. It must be collected, stored and disposed of separately to non-hazardous waste.
Our waste contractors are licensed and authorised to dispose of these types of wastes.
Where we produce or deal with hazardous waste, we must comply with the Hazardous Waste Regulations and follow specific requirements for consigning hazardous waste.
Please complete a Hazardous Waste Disposal Form, return to [email protected] including data sheets or supporting documents. A quote and collection will be provided by our approved contractor.
It is important that staff do not use alternative waste contractors without prior discussion with the Facilities Management team.
When the hazardous waste has been collected, a consignment note must be completed and a copy retained. Consignment notes must be sent to [email protected] for compliance.
For guidance on how to complete a hazardous waste consignment note, visit Natural Resources Wales: Natural Resources Wales / How to complete a hazardous waste consignment note
Hazardous waste consignment notes apply to:
- All movements of hazardous waste including collections from businesses by registered waste carriers
- Movements from one premises to another within the same business
- All movements from the waste producer’s premises.
