With input from organisations such as UCAS, Student Finance Wales and England, and the University Alliance, alongside insights from leading academics and widening participation specialists, the conference equips attendees with the knowledge they need to better support their students.

The 2025 Teachers and Advisers Conference took place on 12 February at our Newport Campus and was a resounding success. One of the standout moments was an inspiring keynote session by Baasit Siddiqui, educator, advocate and well known from Channel 4’s Gogglebox, who spoke about effective ways to support school communities and the positive impact educators can make. The programme also included a wide range of topical workshops, including sessions on cyber security threat simulation, AI in the classroom, and updates from both Student Finance Wales and England. Attendees also heard from experts at UCAS and explored how higher education can support refugees, bilingualism in the workplace and challenge based learning.
