Interview advice and preparation

An interview doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. At the University of South Wales, we use the interview process to assess your commitment to your chosen course and ensure you will uphold the values expected by the profession.

It’s your opportunity to meet with us and allow us to get to know the person behind the application. It’s also your opportunity to decide if we are the right fit for you, and you can see yourself studying with us!

The interview day runs from 9am to 4:30pm. From 9am to 11am, there will be a course overview and group exercise. Afterward, you’ll be called for an individual interview lasting up to 50 minutes, which may take place any time up to 3:40pm.

Remember, this is your opportunity to think about the role and qualities needed, and how your talents, skills and relatable experience match what we’re looking for.

Please bring a portfolio showing a range of your original artwork, along with sketchbooks, notes, and any process materials that reflect your practice. Include background information that helps us understand your work and a recent photograph of yourself. If your work is digital, bring your own device to present it. On arrival, report to security and wait in reception to be collected.
