Sometimes the choice you made earlier doesn’t feel quite right anymore. And that’s okay, your plans can change.

You might be having second thoughts about your course or university, struggling to find suitable accommodation, looking for a more affordable option, or thinking about studying closer to home. Whatever has made you reconsider your plans, changing direction could open up new possibilities.

Your course doesn’t feel right

The course you chose might not be what you expected, or you may have discovered another subject that feels like a better fit.

Your circumstances have changed

Cost, accommodation, travel or personal circumstances might mean your original university choice no longer works for you.

You’re having second thoughts

Sometimes there isn’t one big reason. You might simply feel that another university or a different environment would suit you better.

Check Student Finance

If we’ve been able to make you an offer, we recommend contacting your student finance body, Student Finance England or Student Finance Wales, to inform them of your transfer. Changing universities can affect both your tuition fee and maintenance loan entitlement, so it’s important to check what financial support you’re eligible for, particularly if you’re repeating a year of study.

Our Student Money Advice Team is also here to offer guidance and support throughout the process.
