The need

At Cwm Taf Morgannwg providing great health care to our community is our number one priority.

During the pandemic, the local Health Board covering our Treforest campus approached USW about setting up a pop-up COVID-19 Vaccination centre on site. With students returning to the area and international students joining the area for the first time, it was important to deliver this project to keep the local community safe.

The solution

The USW Conference & Events Team showed the Health Board a few suitable locations on campus to suit the needs of the project. The Conference Centre was chosen as the preferred location, and we worked closely with the Health Board’s senior team and delivery team. There was a tight timescale to deliver this project, which meant it was vital that our team responded to enquiries quickly. There were also a number of unique client requirements, such as specific security protocols due to live vaccines being stored on campus and briefing internal security teams in case of any anti-vaccine protests.

THE OPERATIONAL PHASE WENT VERY SMOOTHLY, AND WE HAD ACCESS TO OUTSTANDING FACILITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS.
