For Newport-based entrepreneur and USW lecturer Ahmed Abdullah, the Newport Engagement Hub has become more than just a place to work. It has provided a professional space to grow his jewellery business, access practical support and connect with a wider business community.

Alongside his work as a university lecturer, Ahmed runs Tiger Eye Atelier Ltd, home to the Tiger Eyea and Yomonara brands, specialising in natural agate and silver jewellery.

Ahmed first discovered the Hub when he was looking for somewhere professional to develop his business away from home. As both a Start-up Stiwdio member and USW Exchange member, he was drawn to the Hub’s welcoming and flexible environment.

Since joining, Ahmed has made use of the Hub’s meeting rooms, training and workshops, including sessions around AI. He has also benefited from connections to professional advisers, including support with tax and accounting, while being able to use the Hub address for his company registration has been particularly valuable.

For Ahmed, though, one of the biggest benefits is the community.
