For grassroots organisation YMCO, the Newport Engagement Hub has become a valuable space to connect, collaborate and support the local community.

YMCO supports Newport’s BME community through family workshops, sports activities and wellbeing initiatives. After discovering the Hub through USW, the organisation began using the space to bring its work to life, creating new opportunities to collaborate and connect.

“The engagement team are always so welcoming to our service users and very accommodating to us as an organisation,” said a YMCO representative. “Having the space available for free has been amazing, and the kitchen facilities have been a lifesaver.”

From hosting community activities, to working with USW on projects including The Voices of Care podcast, the Hub has helped YMCO build new partnerships while providing a welcoming, professional environment for its community.
