Coaching and career development programmes are available to help participants gain the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to effectively progress their career journeys.

  • Advance HE is a membership organisation supporting all universities and many colleges in Wales to drive strategic change and continuous improvement across the higher education sector. Advance HE offers a range of leadership development programmes for women in STEM, including Aurora for emerging leaders, Demystifying Finance to build financial confidence, Leadership Matters for senior leaders, and Women onto Boards for those exploring governance roles. Our work also includes sector-leading research on equality, diversity and inclusion, support for inclusive curriculum design, and initiatives to enhance the well-being of both staff and students.

  • The Wales Coaching Centre, based at the University of South Wales, offers professional coaching to support career development, workplace challenges, and returning to work—especially for those in STEM. Qualified to ILM Level 7 or equivalent, their coaches work with individuals at all career stages, providing a safe, supportive space to explore goals, overcome barriers, and build confidence. Coaching is widely recognised as a powerful tool for leadership and personal growth.
