Module Overview

This course will provide healthcare professionals with in-depth knowledge of metabolic disorders which are increasing in prevalence globally: obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Our comprehensive programme allows you to explore diverse methodologies and approaches, empowering you to address various presentations relating to metabolic disorders with confidence.

Diabetes

This module provides an in-depth exploration of diabetes mellitus, encompassing type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical presentations, and complications of diabetes.

Obesity

This module delves into the complexities of obesity as a metabolic disorder and a significant risk factor for various health conditions. Explore the underlying causes of obesity, its impact on physical and psychological health, and the importance of early intervention.

Hypertension

The Hypertension module focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of hypertension, a common yet critical component of metabolic medicine. Gain a thorough understanding of the underlying mechanisms of hypertension, its risk factors, and its association with cardiovascular diseases.

English language requirements

International applicants will need to have achieved an overall of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component/TOEFL 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing or equivalent.
