Module Overview
Dermatology in Clinical Practice Overview
The aim of this module is to develop a critical understanding of the description of dermatological conditions, referral pathways, imaging and management.
Lumps, Bumps and Skin Cancer
The aim of this module is to be able to describe, diagnose and interpret the management of skin lesions in the context of guidance.
Lesions at Specific Sites
The aim of this module is to accurately describe, identify and institute an appropriate management strategy for dermatoses at specific areas of the body.
Inflammatory Dermatoses
The aim of this module is to accurately describe, identify and institute an appropriate management strategy for inflammatory dermatoses.
Skin Infections
The aim of this module is to be able to describe, diagnose and interpret the management of skin infections in the context of guidance.
Dermatology in Specific Populations
The aim of this module is to develop an ability to identify common skin disorders in particular subgroups of the population and to understand the specific treatment pathways.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To secure your place on the course, applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree. Registered healthcare professionals without these recognised qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account.
In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.

English language requirements
International applicants will need to have achieved an overall of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component/TOEFL 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing or equivalent.

How you’ll learn
Using an online platform and one tutor per 10-15 students, the self-directed distance learning is guided by tutor stimulated discussion based on clinically rich case scenarios. Group projects are undertaken alongside independent projects. Reflective practice is recorded in a reflective portfolio to help students consider how the learning can be translated into everyday work and practice.
The Postgraduate Diploma Dermatology course puts assessment at the heart of learning by using clinical scenarios to facilitate problem-solving, critical analysis and evidence-based care.
