Student Success Officers
Student Success Officers (SSOs) provide first-line advice and guidance to help you overcome barriers to your studies.
The team provide face-to-face guidance via the Advice Zone desks, located in each campus library, as well as drop-in sessions and bookable appointments.
SSOs are aligned to subject areas, but are able to assist with general queries for any subject areas. The details of your SSO can be found on your course page on Blackboard.
How to contact a Student Success Officer
In the first instance, you should raise your question via Advice Zone Online (AZO), where a member of the team will come back to you.
If your query is subject specific or complex the query will be forwarded to your SSO.

Advice Zone Desks are able to assist with general queries. During term time, they are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Each SSO is based on an Advice Zone desk up to two days per week. If you have a subject specific or complex query you may be asked to book an appointment with your SSO.
