Meet Hannah

From Ruisbroek, Belgium, studying MA Film

‘’I’ve made some friends for life here and met such lovely people through the university.’’

Hi! I’m Hannah and I’m from a small town called Ruisbroek which lies between Antwerp and Brussels in the province of Antwerp.

I’m studying my Master’s in Film at USW, having chosen Production Management as my pathway.

I chose to study in Wales as Wales is very up-and-coming in the film industry. I read such wonderful things about Cardiff and the fact that you can go 20 minutes out of Cardiff and be in the mountains intrigued me.

Being fully honest, the prices here helped as well. One of the other cities I looked at was London (as does every international student I assume) and I couldn’t understand why the living costs there were at least double of what they are in Cardiff.

You will never regret taking this huge step, but you might regret not doing it. I always wondered what it would be like to live abroad and of course, there were some downs!

But I’m so happy I did it because I’ve learned so much about Welsh culture, the film industry, and probably most importantly: myself.
