We have three vibrant campuses around the capital city of Wales; Cardiff. Here, you can enjoy a high standard of living at a low cost. Most of our 500 + courses are recognised or accredited by professional organisations and are all taught with employability in mind. Everything you need to know

As a self-funding international student from Bhutan, you are eligible for a scholarship of:

  • £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,500 per year for postgraduate students

This applies to courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

  • Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year one of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Students who have a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) will be considered for our Faculty Foundation Years.
  • An overall average between 50% - 64% (Bhutan Education Board) in the 12th Standard

English Qualifications

  • 65% or higher in the HSEC (12th standard) English subject
  • IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or equivalent (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to the relevant course page on our website)
  • PTE 50 overall with no less than 42 in each module
  • GCSE English (O’Level) with a minimum C grade

Academic Qualifications

  • An overall average of 65% or above obtained in the 12th Standard (HSEC)
  • An overall average of 55% or above obtained from the 2-year Diploma at The Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), formerly known as Royal Bhutanese Polytechnic

Undergraduate Advanced

  • Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or Indian Diploma in a relevant subject – refer to the Faculty for consideration Postgraduate Entry Requirements. 

  • English Qualifications 65% or higher in the HSEC (12th standard) English subject
  • IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or equivalent (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to the relevant course page on our website)
  • PTE 50 overall with no less than 42 in each module
  • GCSE English (O’Level) with a minimum C grade
  • Academic Qualifications Students who have completed a four-year degree and obtained 60% in a recognised undergraduate degree can be considered for entry
  • Students who have completed a three-year degree and obtained 60% in a recognised undergraduate degree can be considered for:
      1. MSc Management 
      2. MSc Engineering Management 
      3. MSc International Business and Enterprise
