Everything you need to know
As a self-funding international student from Canada, you are eligible for a scholarship of:
- £1,500 per year for undergraduate students
- £2,000 per year for postgraduate students
This applies to courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

The University of South Wales is a designated institution that enables students from British Columbia and Ontario to attend while still being eligible for student financial assistance from their home province.

- Foundation Years are available to applicants who hold a Canadian High School or Secondary School Diploma with an overall score of less than 60% in five subjects at grade 12
Academic Qualifications
- Applicants who hold a Canadian High School or Secondary School Diploma with an overall score of 70% (B average) or above in five subjects at grade 12 will be considered for direct admission to an undergraduate degree programme
- Applicants who have satisfactorily completed one year of a college/university programme with GPA of 2.8+ can directly enter onto a relevant undergraduate programme
- Holders of the Diplome d’Etudes Collegiales (from Quebec) or the Attestation d’Etudes Collègiales with an overall score of 60% or above should be considered for entry onto degree programmes
- Post-secondary 2/3 year diplomas will be considered for advanced entry to the 2nd/3rd year of a relevant degree programme
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the Canadian High School or Secondary School Diploma English language result as Proficiency in English.
- Applicants with the equivalent to a Second Class Lower degree will be considered for entry onto a master's programme
- Applicants with a master's degree will be considered for entry onto a master's programme
English Qualifications
