Our Chinese students find the support of our excellent English language centre invaluable both prior to and during their studies. Proficiency in the English language is essential and, for courses at degree level or above, the University recognises the following English language qualifications:
* Duolingo English Test
Please note that the overall scores shown above are indicative of the score required. Your whole test will be reviewed to provide us with a holistic assessment of your English language proficiency and to determine whether you are eligible for direct entry. Test samples will be reviewed by the University before being accepted. The Duolingo test is accepted on an interim basis for 2020 entry.

We run a number of courses to prepare you for your studies. Please visit our Centre for International English pages for more information.
The students who intend to study in our university can apply directly online. Undergraduate students can also apply through UCAS. Students can also apply our university through the approved educational advisor from our approved agents.
The University offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.
Courses starting in February 2021
• £1,500 per year for undergraduate students
• £2,000 for postgraduate students
• £2,000 for MBA students

This year, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of South Wales is offering a scholarship for a student in China applying for a postgraduate course in any subject.
The GREAT Scholarship of £10,000 is jointly provided by the University of South Wales and British Council.
This scholarship replaces the standard postgraduate scholarships and application deadline is Friday 12th June 2020 (5pm UK time).
You will be automatically considered for a scholarship when you make your application. You do not need to make a separate scholarship application. You will receive confirmation of a scholarship with your offer letter. Scholarships and discounts do not apply to sponsored students or those studying a placement year or English language programmes. Scholarships may be withdrawn if conditions of the scholarships are not adhered to.
Please note that applicants should be passport holders of China.

The Immigration & International Student Advice team’s main area of expertise is in the immigration law and rules and offer specialised advice and information for international students and their dependants. The team also offer a dedicated advice service for non-academic, welfare-related matters and endeavour to provide opportunities that improve the international student experience and promote internationalisation both on and off campus.
