We have three vibrant campuses around the capital city of Wales; Cardiff. Here, you can enjoy a high standard of living at a low cost. Most of our 500 + courses are recognised or accredited by professional organisations and are all taught with employability in mind. That’s why 96% of USW graduates are in Employment and/or Further Study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2021/22).


Everything you need to know

As a self-funding international student from Egypt, you are eligible for a scholarship of:

  • £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,500 per year for postgraduate students 

This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.

Students who have a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) will be considered for our Faculty Foundation Years.

 

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

  • GCSE/O Level English Language grade C or above
  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.

Academic Qualifications

  • Holders of a Foundation qualification will be considered for direct entry to Bachelor degree courses.
  • Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma or A – Levels obtained locally, will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor Degree courses. Please check our course pages for IB and A Level entry requirements
  • Holders of a Bachelor degree from a recognised Higher Institute (with a score of 65% or above) can be considered for entry onto top-up programmes

  • Applicants who have a 3 year Diploma from a Technical / Commercial / Industrial / Health Institutes may be considered for year 2 entry
  • Holders of a Bachelors degree from a recognised Egyptian Higher Institute (with a score of 65% / Good / B or above) can be considered for entry to the third year of a degree or a top-up programme on a case-by-case basis

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
  • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. 

Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.

Academic Qualifications

  • Holders of an Honours degree with a score of 65% (Good or B grade) and above will be considered for a relevant postgraduate course
  • Students from the American University of Cairo will need a minimum 2.0/4.0 GPA
  • Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
