I’m based in Kuala Lumpur and am here to provide information regarding admission and will assist you in submitting your application to the university, making your tier 4 visa application and providing travel advice for your journey to the University.

Fees and scholarships

The University offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Courses starting in September 2023 and February 2024

£2,500 per year for undergraduate students
£2,500 for postgraduate students

Entry requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. Where a student has completed English Language as part of their Singapore/Cambridge GCE O Level studies, a minimum of Grade C is required. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:

GCSE English at grade C
IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)
SPM 1119 grade C6 or above
UEC English grade B6 or above

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.

Academic Qualifications

Holders of the Cambridge GCE A Level will be considered against the standard UCAS tariff for each individual course for direct admission to first degree programmes
Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points or ‘A’ levels obtained in Malaysia will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Please refer to our courses pages for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a Foundation year
Holders of Polytechnic Advanced Diplomas/Higher National Diplomas will be considered for advanced entry into Bachelors degree programmes on an individual basis
Holders of UEC (Unified Examination Certificate) Senior Middle Level with an overall mark of at least 60% can be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree programmes
Applicants who have obtained two SPTM passes will also be considered for direct admissions to Bachelor degree programmes

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. Where a student has completed English Language as part of their Singapore/Cambridge GCE O Level studies, a minimum of Grade C is required. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:

GCSE English at grade C
Postgraduate Study: IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.
SPM 1119 grade C6 or above
UEC English grade B6 or above

Academic Qualifications

Holders of a good Bachelor degree from a public University will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses
Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies
