Everything you need to know
As a self-funding international student from Mauritius, you are eligible for a scholarship of:
- £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
- £2,500 per year for postgraduate students
This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:
- GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
- Postgraduate Study: IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component.
Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.
Academic Qualifications
- Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
- Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
- Applicants with a 3 year Higher Technician Diploma from a recognised institution may be considered for Advanced Entry on certain undergraduate degrees

- Applicants with a 4 year degree equivalent to a Second Class Lower degree from a recognised institution will be considered for masters programme entry
- Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for masters programme entry
- Applicants with a 3 year Higher Technician Diploma from a recognised institution and Work Experience will be consider for certain Masters degree
