Everything you need to know
As a self-funding international student from Mexico, you are eligible for a scholarship of:
- £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
- £2,500 per year for postgraduate students
This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C or above
- IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component.
Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.
Academic Qualifications
- Holders of a Foundation qualification will be considered for direct entry to Bachelor degree courses.
- Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma or A – Levels obtained locally, will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor Degree courses. Please check our course pages for IB and A Level entry requirements.
- Holders of the Certificate of Preparatoria or Bachillerato will usually be required to do a Foundation year before progressing to their Bachelor degree. However, students with an average of 9 (MB) or above may be considered for direct entry to Bachelor Degree.

- Applicants with a Masters degree (Maestria) will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
