Everything you need to know

As a self-funding international student from Nepal, you are eligible for a scholarship of:

£2,500 per year for undergraduate students
£2,500 per year for postgraduate students

This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for study at the University. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

12th Standard from Nepal in English with at least 65% plus Medium of Instruction’ letter showing that the applicant has studied their 12th standard (or bachelor degree) in the medium of English.
IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or an equivalent qualification (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to relevant course page on website)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.

Academic Qualifications

Students who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate in year 12 from CBSE (Central Board of School Education), HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate), NEB (National Education Board) or HSEB (Higher Secondary Education Board of Nepal) with a grade of 65% or above will be considered for direct entry onto an Undergraduate Degree.
Applicants who have a CGPA of 2.8 or above will be considered for year 1
Schooling certificate must be from Kathmandu
Applicants who study the Edexcel or Cambridge A Level curriculum will follow the normal UCAS tariff.

An overall score of at least 55% from a 4 year BE/BTech degree
Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
